Official Release Date
Halef: Köklerin Çağrısı Episode 1 officially premiered on 18 September 2025 in Turkey on NOW. The series airs every Thursday and quickly became one of the channel's major drama productions.
The premiere introduced audiences to a story filled with emotional conflict, powerful family relationships, and unexpected twists that continue throughout the season.
Official Storyline
The series follows Serhat, a highly successful surgeon who leaves his hometown to build a new life in Istanbul. There, he falls in love with Melek, and the couple secretly marries.
However, fate forces Serhat to return to Şanlıurfa, where he must face the family, traditions, and rival clans he tried to leave behind. As long-hidden secrets begin to emerge, Serhat discovers that escaping the past is far more difficult than he ever imagined.
The story combines romance, family drama, revenge, loyalty, and cultural traditions while exploring how personal choices affect future generations.
What Happens in Episode 1?
Episode 1 introduces Serhat's successful life as a respected surgeon in Istanbul before revealing the emotional events that force him to confront his past. Viewers also meet Melek, whose relationship with Serhat quickly becomes one of the emotional foundations of the story.
Without revealing major spoilers, the premiere carefully introduces both the modern world Serhat has built and the traditional family environment waiting for him in Şanlıurfa. The contrast between these two lives immediately creates emotional tension that continues throughout the series.
Rather than relying only on action or romance, Episode 1 spends time developing its characters and explaining their motivations. Serhat appears confident and successful on the surface, but the audience gradually learns that unresolved family issues continue to influence every important decision he makes. His relationship with Melek represents hope for a peaceful future, yet circumstances beyond their control threaten that dream almost immediately. At the same time, viewers begin meeting members of the two influential families whose histories are deeply connected. Every conversation hints at old conflicts, broken promises, and hidden truths that have remained buried for years. The writers use these early moments to build suspense instead of revealing every mystery immediately. As a result, Episode 1 creates a strong emotional connection with viewers while encouraging them to continue watching future episodes. Beautiful cinematography, authentic regional settings, and strong performances further strengthen the premiere, making it one of the standout openings among Turkish dramas released during the season.
