What Happens in Mehmed Fetihler Sultanı Episode 85?
Episode 85 continues the consequences of the dangerous incident involving Şehzade Bayezid and Şehzade Mustafa.
Episode 84 established a major political trap designed to push the Ottoman Empire and Akkoyunlu state toward conflict. As the consequences of the bloodshed become clearer, the pressure on Uzun Hasan and Sultan Mehmed increases.
The Episode 85 trailer points toward a serious confrontation. Sultan Mehmed is shown speaking about the price of what has happened and demanding an answer from those involved.
The trailer also includes a strong warning that the consequences of the incident will not be ignored. A person brought before the Sultan is confronted with the possibility of a severe punishment.
Sultan Mehmed Faces a Critical Decision
Sultan Mehmed must deal with the political consequences of the growing Ottoman-Akkoyunlu tension while continuing his preparations for his larger ambitions.
The situation is especially sensitive because Uzun Hasan is not simply an external enemy. The relationship between the two states is being affected by events involving their respective princes and political interests.
Episode 85 is therefore expected to focus heavily on diplomacy, accountability and the decisions that could determine whether the crisis develops into a larger conflict.
Uzun Hasan and the Ottoman-Akkoyunlu Conflict
One of the central storylines of the new season is the relationship between Sultan Mehmed and Uzun Hasan.
Episode 84 established that forces connected to the Papal States were attempting to provoke an Ottoman-Akkoyunlu confrontation. The incident involving Bayezid and Mustafa threatens to make that plan successful.
By Episode 85, the consequences of the incident become increasingly serious.
Uzun Hasan must decide how to respond, while Mehmed has to protect Ottoman interests without allowing the situation to develop into a larger war.
Bayezid and Mustafa
Şehzade Bayezid and Şehzade Mustafa remain central to the developing conflict.
In Episode 84, both princes were drawn into a dangerous situation near Karasu without fully understanding the larger political game surrounding them.
Episode 85 continues the aftermath of this incident and raises questions about who was responsible for the bloodshed and what punishment should follow.
The fate of the two princes could have consequences far beyond the Ottoman palace.
Episode 84 Recap
Episode 84 opened a new chapter in Sultan Mehmed's story.
After expanding Ottoman power in Constantinople, Pontus and the Balkans, Mehmed began turning his attention toward Rome. He started preparing the state for another major campaign.
At the same time, Bellini arrived from Rome, bringing information that could help Mehmed with his plans.
However, the Papal States attempted to prevent Mehmed from moving toward Rome by creating tension between the Ottoman Empire and Akkoyunlu.
Bayezid and Mustafa were drawn into a dangerous trap near Karasu. Their movements threatened to turn a carefully planned political provocation into a much larger conflict.
Meanwhile, Uzun Hasan received information that changed his calculations.
Episode 84 ended with the major question of whether Sultan Mehmed could prevent the crisis from developing into an Ottoman-Akkoyunlu war.
